The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter Holds Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner

On June 17th, The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter held its Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner. The event was held at the Radisson Hotel on Genesee Street. The evening consisted of the installment of the 2010 – 2011 Arc Board of Directors and honored their long time Executive Director, Angela Z. VanDerhoof.

Two new directors, Louise Glasso and Patricia Villelo were inducted, while others, including the Board Officers were reinstated for another term. Officers include Joanna Greco, President, Jack Spaeth, Vice President, David Scharf, Treasurer and Deborah McGrath, Secretary. Directors elected for a new two year term include Louis Dunlay, Joan Ehlinger, Suzanne Lavin, Leland McCormac, Philomena Nowakowski, Ruth Ridgway, and David Wojnas. Directors with one year remaining include Dr. Raphael Alcuri, Carl Annese, Lawrence Calabrese, David Harris, John Kowalczyk, David Mathis, Robert Payne, Jr., Louis Steppello and Frank Tomaino.

Angela Z. VanDerhoof was honored with a fun collection of stories about her time at The Arc. As part of the program, VanDerhoof’s close friends, relatives and colleagues were honored with special awards. VanDerhoof will be retiring at the end of 2010.

The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC is a private, non-profit human service organization governed by an independent Board of Directors. Our Board of Directors is unique in that it is composed of at least two thirds parents, direct relatives or legal guardians of an individual with a developmental disability. This ensures that The Arc, true to the vision of the parents who founded it, remains a family led organization determined to provide the best programs, services and supports for our loved ones. The Arc Board is deeply committed to its governing responsibilities. Our Board Members advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities and implement the Agency’s mission with care as their legacy depends on it.


The Arc, Oneida-Lewis Chapter NYSARC is a non-profit human service agency which provides advocacy and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Oneida and Lewis counties.
