AmeriCU Credit Union Launches Debt in Focus Program

AmeriCU Credit Union is proud to announce the launch of Debt in Focus, a free and
anonymous financial assessment program accessible from the credit union’s website open to
BOTH members and non-members of the Credit Union.

While the recession has encouraged Americans to be more cautious with their finances, huge
barriers remain when it comes to actually seeking financial advice from another party. Many consumers refuse to talk about their finances with a professional because of the embarrassment
and discomfort associated with talking publicly about such a private subject. Worse, many
consumers who actually seek financial guidance find that complex industry jargon and unclear
directives leave them more confused than had they not acted at all.

Debt in Focus addresses these barriers head-on. Consumers can complete the program without
disclosing any personally identifying information. Debt in Focus provides consumers with a
robust, yet easy-to-understand, evaluation of personal debts, incomes, expenses, and credit
scores, along with powerful suggestions on how to improve each. Results are written in a concise, conversational tone with clear instructions on how to act on them.

membership status.
