Joan Jett and the Blackhearts To Perform at Vernon Downs

Vernon Downs Casino & Hotel is bringing back their long tradition of presenting top-name entertainment to the area, and is proud to announce Rock legend Joan Jett live in concert on Thursday, July 8 at 7:30pm. Known for such classics as “I Love Rock ‘N’ Roll”, “Cherry Bomb”, and “Crimson and Clover”, this will be her first appearance under the stars at Vernon Downs.

Starting her musical career as a teenager in the ground-breaking band The Runaways, and currently the leader of the hard-rocking Blackhearts, she has achieved eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles. This year has seen a rise in her popularity, with the story of the Runaways the subject of a feature film, and the release of a new, two-disc Greatest Hits collection.

Opening for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts is the New York City-based Cavalier Rose. Formed in the winter of 2009, this breaking band is attracting growing recognition for their original and vibrant mix of blues and rock music.
